FAILVIEW, PLEASE

I'm totally shocked by the fact that I managed to do this in only 2 days. °_° Worked on this since Sunday morning, I guess (even though the sketch was a bit older).
Also, I like it. Yeah, it's not that great (those thick lines pretty much kills everything else, I guess 5 pixels it's a bit too much :|), but I'm getting closer to the style I want to master and I like the most.

I've been doing this while listening to Raison d'Etre (Nightmare), that's why I chose this title. :)

Nice simple stuff, good job. =D
Out of curiosity, how are you doing your lineart? Are you stroking paths?

Yup, the main lineart is done stroking paths (5 pixels hard round brush here) then I give it some touches with the brush tool and eraser.

I think it looks great, Chachachan. The important think to keep in mind while 'inking' is not to find a perfect medium, but to vary your line depth to better delineate depth of objects and make them stand out more as well as separating textural detail from things you want to stand out more. Although I'm not the greatest inker, you can see these techniques used to more extremes than you'd prolly want to go with in my gallery. If you want to use finer consistent line depths, then hatching and tones become more important as well.

If you want more control over your lines, you can try using shape layers - it's generally more time consuming but does give greater control over where the line goes thick or thin. Still, what you're doing already seems to be working ok.
Just suggesting something you might want to try. =D

Yup, I've tried that method on my previous deviation, the outcome was not what I was aiming for XD. Sure it gives a big control over lines thickness but somehow it doesn't look god at all when I do hair lines (which are probably too thin for a shape layer).
The method I used in this one works ok, I just need to try it out a bit more.
Thank you, dmy. :)
